US Executes Inmates on Same Day for First Time Since 2010

The Darkening of Capital Punishment The United States has long been associated with the practice of capital punishment, but recent developments suggest a shift in public opinion and state policies.

This week, three states – Tennessee, Alabama, and Oklahoma – will execute inmates via lethal injection on the same day for the first time since 2010.

The cases themselves are tragic: Anthony Darrell Hines is set to be executed in Tennessee for the 1985 murder of Catherine Jean Jenkins; Jeremy Williams will face lethal injection in Alabama for the rape and murder of five year old Kamarie Holland in 2021; and Carlos Cuesta Rodriguez awaits execution in Oklahoma for fatally shooting his girlfriend Olimpia Fisher in 2003.
